Dear Mountain Bike Families,

The CAHS Athletic Department would like to provide clarity regarding our role in supporting the Classical Academy Mountain Bike Team. Our mission remains focused on serving and supporting our high school athletes and coaches. However, recent changes within the SoCal Cycling League created confusion around registration and clearance requirements for the team.

To help simplify the process for both families and coaches, we have implemented a streamlined solution through HomeCampus. This allows all Mountain Bike Team riders—both high school and middle school—to complete their registration and clearance in one consistent location. This adjustment does not expand the responsibilities of the CAHS Athletic Department. Rather, it extends our existing high school clearance structure in a way that benefits the MTB program as a whole.

Key Information for All Riders

Beginning this season, middle school students (grades 6–8) who wish to participate on the Mountain Bike Team may register through HomeCampus and complete the full Athletic Clearance process—just like our high school athletes.

Please note the following guidelines for both high school and middle school riders:

· CAHS Athletics is not responsible for overseeing or operating middle school sports programs, and this process does not change that.

· Mountain Biking is the sole exception where CAHS Athletics provides access to the Athletic Clearance system, offered only to support unified registration for the MTB team. We remain available to answer questions specifically related to the clearance process; email us at athletics@classicalacademy.com.

· The clearance process provided through HomeCampus is only for participation in the Mountain Bike Team and does not register middle school students for any other CAHS athletic program.

· When completing questions regarding previous schools or transfer status, middle school families must select:

o   "Non-transfer student"

o   "No previous school" These selections help maintain clean eligibility records and prevent unintended CIF transfer flags in the future.

· Middle school riders must upload a current Preparticipation Physical Evaluation (PPE) and insurance information, just as high school athletes are required to do.

· When selecting a sport, middle school families should choose Mountain Biking only.

· For questions related to practices, schedules, or team logistics, please contact the Mountain Bike coaching staff directly. While we provide the clearance platform, CAHS Athletics does not manage middle school athletics or MTB team operations.

These combined guidelines help ensure clarity for families and streamline the administrative process for our MTB coaches.
